Picasso spent the years of 1900 to 1906 in what is referred to as the Blue and Rose Period. The Blue period involved the use of blue in most of Picasso’s works to represent a negativity and bleakness of Pablo Picasso paintings and those within them. Art experts, even those who disbelieve his later innovative style, respected his blue period. The rose period signaled a choice of brighter pink tones over the previous blues.

These days, selecting drum samples for use in electronic music production should be as easy as pie. So why is it so hard and frustrating? There are literally hundreds and even thousands of free drum sounds for anybody to download right onto their computers and then even take onto hardware samplers and such. One of the main complaints often voiced concerns the time needed to sort through these samples; a lot are not organized correctly, and even the ones that are organized are misnamed and mismatched a lot of the time. This all leads to many hours of needing to audition sample after sample to get a good batch together.

Reverb, when applied to drum samples, is grossly underused in popular music. At the same time, though, a lot of the people who make use of the effect for their drum parts abuse it and degrade the drum samples to the point of annoyance.
